FERPA at Utica University

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of the student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

The essence of FERPA is to give a student the right to inspect his or her education records and to protect the privacy of these records. Utica University fully complies with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act and its implementing regulations, each as amended (collectively known as FERPA) and with guidelines recommended by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
